Details

Meet the MD Notebook A5 – with Grid B Pages, the purest canvas for your thoughts, sketches, and ideas. With its iconic Midori cream paper and understated design, this notebook is made for creators who love simplicity and quality above all else.

Every pen glides effortlessly across the smooth MD paper, known for handling fountain pens beautifully with minimal bleed‑through. The stitched binding allows the notebook to lie perfectly flat, making writing feel natural and uninterrupted.

Elegant, quiet, and endlessly versatile — it’s the kind of notebook that becomes a trusted companion, ready to hold whatever your mind dreams up.

From the Brand:

The MD Notebook is a notebook designed to simply pursue the pleasure of writing. Discover the various ingenuities hidden behind its simple appearance, and you are sure to develop a deeper affection for it.

It features a binding that opens 180 degrees flat and a pursuit of functional beauty without ornamentation. It uses our original writing paper, "MD PAPER," which we have been developing in-house since the 1960s, focusing on quality that prevents bleed-through and feathering, even when writing with a fountain pen. By using "MD PAPER" not only for the inner pages but also for the cover and endpapers, this notebook offers the ultimate writing experience.

The grid features a light blue-grey 5mm grid pattern reminiscent of old Japanese manuscript paper, characterized by a slight gap between the squares. It also includes tick marks every 5/10 squares to easily count characters. The light blue grid lines will not interfere with your writing or sketching.

This notebook is recommended for those who want to enjoy the act of writing, whether keeping a diary, recording hobbies, or composing sentences like a professional writer. The A5 size is recommended for those who want to use it extensively for work notes, daily records, notebook decoration, and more.
